Give your employees a reason to keep coming back

Written by David Bator | January 6, 2020

It's only half true that "if you build it, they will come." When it comes to the digital workplace, we need to give employees reasons to keep coming back.

In a new article for CMSWire, Asif Rehmani points to incentive programs as a way to drive long-term adoption of Microsoft Office 365.

"The value your company gets out of SharePoint and Office 365 is directly proportional to the number of users and the extent of usage on the platform," Rehmani writes.

"Understanding the personal and business benefits of using the platforms helps users see "what's in it for me.""

Rehmani is exactly right and I've seen many examples of an incentive approach working for a digital adoption campaign.

What I'd argue has a longer term benefit for both the IT organization and the employees is bringing your entire recognition program inside the the digital workplace.

Companies like American Advisors Group, Ricoh USA, Inc. and Workplace Safety & Prevention Services have seen that bringing recognition inside systems like Outlook, SharePoint, Yammer and Teams makes it inescapable, removes friction and makes fans on launch day and every day after.

Carrots are good for our eyes, after all!
